TikTok Ban In America : The problems of Chinese apps and TikTok are going to increase in America also. In fact, US President Joe Biden has signed a bill, under which TikTok will be banned if its Chinese company ByteDance does not divest the app within a year. It is being told that America has taken this decision amid national security concerns. According to the bill, ByteDance has been given 9 months time to sell its stake in TikTok. If it takes time then 90 more days will be given. Even after this, if ByteDance is not able to sell TikTok to a US buyer in this timeframe, then the use of TikTok will be completely stopped in America. Let us tell you that TikTok has more than 170 million users in America.
TikTok will challenge in court
TikTok has also issued its response regarding this action taken by America. TikTok responded in a statement on Twitter, saying banning TikTok is unconstitutional. We will challenge it in court. If the ban is imposed then 170 million users of America will also be shocked. TikTok CEO Shaw Ji Chew called the bill disappointing in a video and promised to oppose it. Chew said, rest assured, we are not going anywhere. The facts and the Constitution are on our side, we expect victory.
Why is this action being taken
The reason for bringing this bill against TikTok is also being given. It is being told that TikTok is leaking the data of American users. In view of national security concerns in America, the government is taking this step to prevent China’s access to user data. At the same time, TikTok says that the company has never shared the data of American users with Chinese authorities. America says that we are not punishing ByteDance, TikTok or any other individual company. Let us tell you that the Senate has passed this bill against TikTok by 79-18 votes.
